Today, we honor especially the Maya ancestors, the original guardians of cacao, who saw this sacred plant as a bridge between worlds - a medicine of the heart and spirit. We give thanks to those who carry this legacy today, sharing the teachings of cacao and its ceremonies with love and devotion. We recognize cacao as more than nourishment. It is a sacred gift, a teacher of love, a guide to the heart, and a healer of the soul. In this ceremony, may cacao help us…

To open our hearts fully, embracing love, compassion, and connection. To ground our spirits, reminding us of our roots and our place within the earth’s embrace. To awaken our creativity and intuition, illuminating the path forward with clarity and purpose.

We call upon the ancestors, the guardians of this sacred plant, and the spirits of the land we gather on. May their presence bless this space and guide our journey of transformation. May we feel their wisdom flow through us as we honor this ceremony.

Let us also give thanks to Mother Earth, who provides abundantly, to the rain, the sun, and the soil that nourished the cacao tree, and to the hands that lovingly tended and prepared this gift.
