What is Freedom
𑁍𑁍𑁍 For me, freedom is the ability to move - physically, mentally, emotionally. It’s being able to stretch my body without pain, step into the world without hesitation, and navigate life on my own terms.
But over the years, I’ve come to understand that freedom isn’t just about movement; it’s also about stillness. It’s the ability to pause, observe my thoughts, and consciously choose my responses instead of reacting to old triggers or conditioning. Real freedom, for me, is a state of mind - one that evolves as I do, inspiring me to keep creating more space for myself in every way.
When I was pregnant, I faced complications brought on by immense stress. For two months, I was forced to lie still, unable to move my body or do my practice. I found myself in a place I didn’t connect with, surrounded by circumstances that felt less than desirable. I wasn’t free - not physically, mentally, or emotionally. That time taught me a truth I carry with me daily: we must learn to move inwardly and free our mind from outer circumstances. Shifting my thoughts, finding calm in the uncertainty, and creating a sense of freedom within, in circumstances that felt like a prison to me, became my practice and my anchor.
Meditation didn’t just help me and my child to survive; it transformed me. It reminded me that freedom isn’t something we wait for - it’s something we cultivate within ourselves. And eventually, that stillness led to one of the most beautiful experiences of my life: a beautiful, natural birth.
Freedom looks different for all of us. Sometimes, it’s in the way we move. Other times, it’s in the way we pause. But either way, it’s a journey, not a destination. 𑁍𑁍𑁍
